Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM), the largest social sector window of the Government of Pakistan, was established in 1992 by the then and now Prime Minister, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. PBM is endeavoring to minimize poverty through its pro-poor social safety strategies. PBM has launched various projects for protection and rehabilitation of children. Similarly, this institution is running (160) institutions for women empowerment.
Pakistan Sweet Home (PSH) is the unique project of PBM, which is the only meant for orphan children. Orphan between the age bracket of 4-6 years are enrolled in these institutes and they are provided with free quality educations, accommodation, food, clothing etc. Children will stay in these homes till the finalization of their education up to Graduation Level. In order to ensure continuity of the project, PBM is encouraging the concept of public – private partnership. Sofar, 900 of these 3200 sweet angels, have been sponsored by the private donors.
Presently, (3200) children are residing in these institutes all over the Pakistan (Punjab, Sindh, Khber Pakhtunkhaw, Balochistan, AJ&K, Gilgit Baltistan and Northern Areas).
From the last three (3) years, PBM is celebrating Pakistan Day (23rd March) with these PSH children in Islamabad. This year the event celebrated in Sports Complex, Islamabad from March 20-24. PBM had named this year event as “PBM Carnival for Sweet Angels” and the theme WE WILL RISE. Children from all over the Pakistan, gathered in order to give the message of hope, peace, and national harmony. These children participate in different sports and other extra-curricular activities, like Computer Games, Naat, Tilawat, Speeches, Tabloes, fancy dress shows etc.
Prominent personalities from all field of life participated and appreciated children & PBM official for organizing big events. Among prominent guests are; "Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Ghadeer, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Murtaza Javed Abbasi Deputy Speaker National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Opposition Leader National Assembly, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf Federal Minister for religious affairs and Inter-faith Harmony, Lt. General (Retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch Minister for States and Frontier Regions, Mrs. Anusha Rahman Ahmad Khan, Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Mr. Abid Sher Ali, Minister for Water and Power etc.
