Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) extends hope among the deserving and promising students of Minawali, as PBM inks Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with University of Minawali (UMW) in a ceremony held here in Head Office of the organization. Managing Director PBM, Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar and Vice Chancellor of the UMW, Prof. Dr. Islam Ullah Khan validated the MoU with their signatures, in the presence of Senior PBM Officers and the faculty members of the University.
In the light of MoU, PBM will provide educational stipends to 200 undergraduate and post-graduate students every year who are facing financial barriers to complete their education. PBM will also provide opportunities to the students for internship/admission to community work at provincial/regional level. Additionally, PBM and UMW will jointly hold National and International days in order to create general public awareness, about the various social issues.
On the occasion, Managing Director PBM, Malik Zahir Abbas highlighted the vision of Prime Minister of Pakistan for investing on youth so as to make the country’s future secure and prosperous. Managing Director told that during last three years PBM has accomplished landmark achievements while serving the vulnerable community, under the Ehsaas Programme. He further underlined that during the past three years, PBM has signed MoUs with more than 60 Universities across the country and so far, 17348 deserving students of these universities have been provided educational support with Rs.482 million.
Malik Zaheer Abbas was of the view that deprived and poor area like Minawali needs much attention and care, so today’s MoU was much needed in present circumstances to support the deserving students there for a bright and sovereign future ahead.
VC UMW, Prof. Dr. Islam Ullah Khan thanked the Managing Director and termed this initiative a valuable effort for enabling the deserving students of Mianwali to complete their studies. He said there are more than 70% female students studying in UMW and PBM has provided an immense opportunity to them for flourishing in Science & Technology or any other field they choose to learn.
