Managing Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal has said that the poor and deserving cancer patients are provided financial assistance for their medical treatment on preferential basis by Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal. He was addressing to a Seminar held at NORI hospital on World Cancer Day. On this occasion, he said that cancer not only affects the elderly, but young men and women, often in their prime working years are also affected which is tragic for families and governments and adversely affect socio-economic development of developing world. He told that “one window operation cell” has been established within the organization for providing quick relief to such critical patients. MD PBM further told that during one year of his tenure, more than three thousand cancer patients have been provided medical treatment by Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal. He emphasized that World Cancer Day shouldn’t be celebrated as a symbol; this day is the ideal opportunity to raise awareness among the general public, health care sector, Government and policy makers to effectively plan and allocate resources to secure masses from this malice. Chairman Atomic Energy Commission Dr. Ansar Perviez and Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry were also present on this occasion.
